Choosing Your Configuration

Three boards. Three blade lengths. One extra decision, because this is a staff. Here is what actually changes when you pick.

S-RGB — One high-output LED seated in each hilt, lighting a diffused blade. Bright, brutally durable, and the choice for anyone who intends to duel hard and often. Smooth swing included. On a staff you take contact from both ends and at unpredictable angles, so this is the configuration that shrugs off punishment best.

SNV4 Pixel — An LED strip running the full length of each blade. Ignition and retraction travel up and down the blade, and flash-on-clash fires at the exact point of impact — on either end. This is where most collectors land, and it needs no setup at all.

Proffie Pixel — The same pixel blades, driven by fully programmable boards. Custom sound fonts, custom blade styles, gesture controls, and configuration files you can rewrite yourself. Proffie is also the route to dual independent blade animations and linked ignition sequences. Choose Proffie if you want to tinker. Choose SNV4 if you want it perfect out of the box.

Blade length — 32" is the standard adult dueling length and the safe default. 26" suits shorter wielders, tight choreography and indoor sparring, and on a staff it is by far the most controllable: two 26" blades on a 22-inch coupled hilt is still a long weapon. 36" is reach and presence, and it is the one that dominates a display stand.

Menace is a staff first and two sabers second. The grip sections are machined for spinning, and the balance is centred rather than blade-forward, so it rewards flow, twirls and momentum more than heavy overhead striking. If you have never run a double-bladed hilt before, start short and give yourself room.

Common Questions

Can I use Menace as two separate sabers?

Yes. Menace ships as two complete hilts, each with its own board, its own charger, its own removable chassis and its own kill switch. Run them coupled as a staff, run them as a matched dual-wield pair, or run one on its own — nothing is shared between them except the coupler.

How does the staff connect?

A coupler joins the two hilts end to end into a single 22-inch staff, and it is included in the box. Conversion is seamless in both directions, so you can display it split as two hilts and fight with it as one weapon.

Is Menace suitable for real dueling?

Yes. The hilts are machined aluminum and the blades are combat-grade polycarbonate rated for full-contact use. For heavy, frequent dueling the S-RGB configuration is the most resilient; pixel blades are also duel-ready but carry more electronics inside the blade.

Which blade length should I order for a staff?

32" is standard for most adults and gives the classic proportions. Choose 26" if you are spinning in a confined space or learning staff work — coupled, that is still well over five feet of weapon. Choose 36" for maximum reach and the most imposing display presence.

How long does it take to arrive?
