Choosing Your Configuration

Three boards. Three blade lengths. Here is what actually changes when you pick.

S-RGB (baselit). One high-output LED seated in the hilt, lighting a diffused blade. Bright, brutally durable, and the choice for anyone who intends to duel hard and often. Smooth swing is included. If this saber is going to spend its life in training drills and sparring sessions, this is the configuration that shrugs off punishment.

SNV4 Pixel. An LED strip running the full length of the blade. Ignition and retraction travel up and down the blade, and flash-on-clash fires at the exact point of impact. Nothing to configure, nothing to set up — this is where most collectors land.

Proffie Pixel. The same pixel blade, driven by a fully programmable board. Custom sound fonts, custom blade styles, gesture controls, and configuration files you can edit yourself. Choose Proffie if you want to tinker. Choose SNV4 if you want it perfect out of the box.

Blade length. 32” is the standard adult dueling length and the safe default. 26” suits shorter wielders, tight choreography and indoor sparring — and it pairs naturally with the training spirit of this hilt. 36” is reach and display presence.

Blade diameter. The Blue Ascendance takes a 7/8” blade — lighter and faster in the hand than a 1” blade, and not interchangeable with one. If you already own blades, order to match.

A word on handling. At approximately 10.75 inches and around a pound, this is one of the leaner, quicker hilts in the range, and the clean unbroken geometry gives you a grip that slides easily between one-handed and two-handed holds. It is a saber that rewards form work, repetition and speed rather than brute force — exactly what it was modeled on.

What is the two-tone finish actually like?

It is carved detailing machined into the aluminum itself, not a printed or applied pattern — silver and black across a clean, restrained profile. It is the reason this hilt reads as understated on a shelf full of louder designs.

Does this saber take a 1 inch or a 7/8 inch blade?

7/8 inch. A 7/8” blade is lighter and faster in the hand than a 1” blade, which suits this hilt’s quick, disciplined character. The two diameters are not interchangeable, so order to match.

Is this a good first saber?

It is one of the better ones. At approximately 10.75 inches and around a pound it is light, balanced and forgiving, and the S-RGB configuration keeps the entry price and the maintenance both low while you learn.

Is this saber suitable for real dueling?

Yes. The hilt is precision-machined aluminum with a durable, removable internal chassis, and the blade is combat-grade polycarbonate rated for full contact. For heavy, frequent dueling the S-RGB configuration is the most resilient; the pixel boards are duel-ready too, but carry more electronics inside the blade.
