Old Ben
THE OLD BEN
“If you’re going to face the darkness… bring the light of a true knight.”
A relic reborn. The Old Ben is a masterwork tribute to the desert hermit’s legendary saber from the original trilogy design — the weapon of a man who carried the weight of destiny in silence. Forged with TXQ’s finest craftsmanship, this hilt blends heavyweight metal construction with a bronze-based crystal reveal chamber and screen-accurate detailing that captures the soul of a bygone era of the Order.
Every groove, emitter line, and weathered contour reflects the story of a survivor who walked into exile, waited, and rose again when the galaxy needed him most. Ignite The Old Ben, and you don’t just wield a saber…
you wield the spark that began a legend.
Design Inspiration
Inspired directly by the desert hermit’s saber from the original trilogy design, this hilt honors the final chapter of a warrior who once defended the Republic and later watched over the galaxy’s last hope. Its refined, minimalist silhouette mirrors the calm discipline of a master of the Order — humble, composed, but capable of unmatched precision when the blade demands it.
The Old Ben captures the essence of wisdom forged through hardship — elegant, resolute, and unmistakably iconic.

Choosing Your Configuration
Blade diameter first, then the board, then the length. Here is what actually changes when you pick.
Blade diameter. The Old Ben is offered with either a 1” or a 7/8” blade, depending on the configuration you choose. A 1” blade has a thicker wall and throws more light, which makes it brighter and slightly more robust. A 7/8” blade is lighter and faster in the hand. The two are not interchangeable, so if you already own blades, order to match what you have.
SNV4 Pixel. An LED strip running the full length of the blade. Ignition and retraction travel up and down the blade, and flash-on-clash fires at the exact point of impact. It needs no setup and nothing configured on your part, and it is where most collectors land.
Proffie Pixel. The same pixel blade, driven by a fully programmable board. Custom sound fonts, custom blade styles, gesture controls, and configuration files you can rewrite yourself. Choose Proffie if you want to tinker. Choose SNV4 if you want it perfect out of the box.
Blade length. 32” is the standard adult dueling length and the safe default. 26” suits shorter wielders, tight choreography and indoor sparring. 36” is reach and display presence, and on a hilt with this much presence it is a genuinely commanding stand piece.
A word on handling. This is a heavier-grade metal body — deliberately so — and at around 11 inches it carries real weight behind every movement. That heft is the point of the design, but it does mean The Old Ben rewards deliberate, grounded bladework more than fast spinning. If you want speed, look at a lighter hilt. If you want a saber that feels like an heirloom in the hand, this is the one.

Common Questions
What is the crystal chamber like?
It is a bronze-based, detailed reveal section built into the hilt rather than a printed insert — the single feature that sets this build apart from every other version of this design in its class. It is visible without disassembly and it is the reason most people choose this hilt.
Should I order the 1 inch or the 7/8 inch blade?
1 inch is thicker-walled and brighter. 7/8 inch is lighter and faster. The diameter depends on the configuration you select, and blades are not interchangeable between the two, so order to match anything you already own.
Is it noticeably heavier than other sabers?
Yes, and intentionally. The heavier-grade full-metal TXQ body is what gives this hilt its heirloom feel. It carries the gravity of a real weapon rather than the lightness of a hollow tube, which is exactly what buyers of this design are after.
Is this saber suitable for real dueling?
Yes. The hilt is heavyweight full-metal construction with a durable, removable internal chassis, and the blade is combat-grade polycarbonate rated for full contact. Pixel blades are duel-ready but carry more electronics inside the blade, so treat blade strikes with the respect the hardware deserves.
