Choosing Your Configuration

Three boards. Three blade lengths. One diameter. Here is what actually changes when you pick.

S-RGB (baselit). One high-output LED seated in the hilt, lighting a diffused blade. Bright, brutally durable, and the choice for anyone who intends to duel hard and often. Smooth swing is included. This is the configuration that shrugs off punishment and keeps coming back for more.

SNV4 Pixel. An LED strip running the full length of the blade. Ignition and retraction travel up and down the blade, and flash-on-clash fires at the exact point of impact. Nothing to configure and nothing to set up — this is where most collectors land.

Proffie Pixel. The same pixel blade, driven by a fully programmable board. Custom sound fonts, custom blade styles, gesture controls, and configuration files you can rewrite yourself. Choose Proffie if you want to tinker. Choose SNV4 if you want it perfect out of the box.

Blade length. 32” is the standard adult dueling length and the safe default. 26” suits shorter wielders, tight choreography and indoor sparring. 36” is reach and display presence — and on a hilt this imposing, the longer blade is the one that dominates a shelf.

Blade diameter. The Irreversible Darkness is built around a 1” blade — thicker-walled and brighter than a 7/8” blade, and not interchangeable with one. If you already own blades, check what you have before you order.

A word on handling. At approximately 11.5 inches and around a pound, this is one of the longer hilts in the range, and the deep machined grooves give the grip real bite even in a hard two-handed hold. The design is aggressive rather than nimble: it suits heavy, committed bladework and forward pressure far more than tight spinning.

Common Questions

What is the dark-accent finish actually like?

It is precision-machined aluminum finished in a mix of polished and dark-accented sections, with deep grooves cut into the body rather than printed onto it. In the hand it reads heavier and more aggressive than a fully polished hilt, which is exactly the intent.

How is this different from the lighter version of this design?

This is the hilt as it was after the fall — dark-accented, deep-grooved and built to look like domination rather than restraint. The polished, symmetrical version of the same lineage is a separate listing in the catalogue.

Can I change the blade color?

Yes, on every configuration. Proffie, SNV4 and S-RGB all offer full color customization, so you can run the canonical purple or red for this design, or anything else you prefer.

Is this saber suitable for real dueling?

Yes. The hilt is precision-machined aluminum with a thick-walled, reinforced, removable chassis, and the blade is combat-grade polycarbonate rated for full contact. For heavy, frequent dueling the S-RGB configuration is the most resilient; the pixel boards are duel-ready too, but carry more electronics inside the blade.
