Design Inspiration

Modeled directly after the saber wielded by the pale apprentice, this hilt reflects her disciplined yet volatile nature.
The silver finish, combined with its muted gray grip, mirrors the calm-before-the-storm energy she shows on screen — elegant, reserved, and deadly when unleashed.

Choosing Your Configuration

This hilt takes a 1 inch blade. A 1 inch blade has a thicker wall and throws noticeably more light than the 7/8 inch blades used on much of our range. It is also not interchangeable — if you already own SaberWorks blades, check the diameter before you order.

S-RGB — One high-output LED seated in the hilt, lighting a diffused blade. Bright, brutally durable, and the choice for anyone who intends to duel hard and often. Smooth swing is included. This is the configuration that shrugs off punishment.

SNV4 Pixel — An LED strip running the full length of the blade. Ignition and retraction travel up and down the blade, and flash-on-clash fires at the exact point of impact. It needs no setup on your part, and it is where most collectors land.

Proffie Pixel — The same pixel blade, driven by a fully programmable board. Custom sound fonts, custom blade styles, gesture controls, and configuration files you can edit yourself. Choose Proffie if you want to tinker. Choose SNV4 if you want it perfect out of the box.

Blade length — 32” is the standard adult dueling length and the safe default. 26” suits shorter wielders, tight choreography and indoor sparring. 36” is reach and display presence.

At roughly 11.5 inches and about a pound, this is a light, clean-lined hilt with nothing on it to catch the hand. It favours speed over authority — fast transitions, feints and flourishes rather than heavy overhead power. Pair it with a 26” blade if you spin; take the 32” if you duel.

Common Questions

What is the difference between a 1 inch and a 7/8 inch blade?

A 1 inch blade has a thicker wall and throws more light, which makes it brighter and slightly more robust. A 7/8 inch blade is lighter and faster in the hand. They are not interchangeable between hilts, and The Dark Baddie is a 1 inch hilt.

What does the grip actually feel like?

The body is precision-machined polished aluminum, with a pale ash-gray grip section through the middle. It is a smooth, clean-lined hilt rather than a deeply textured one — closer to a duelist’s handle than a weathered survivor’s.

Can I change the blade color?

Yes, on every configuration. All three boards allow full blade color customization, and the pixel options add customizable ignition styles, unstable blade effects and color tuning on top.

Is this saber suitable for real dueling?

Yes. Machined aluminum hilt, reinforced removable chassis and a combat-grade polycarbonate blade rated for full contact. For heavy, frequent use the S-RGB configuration is the most resilient — bright, durable, and without the pixel fragility.
