Unlike the bulky, intricate designs of the original staff, this SE variant is intentionally streamlined — a sleeker, more practical evolution built for duelists who demand maneuverability over ornamentation. Its weathered finish gives it the unmistakable look of a weapon that has survived a galaxy-wide war: scraped, darkened, scarred, and viciously alive.

Design Inspiration

Inspired by the saber the horned warrior carried in his first appearance in the saga, this edition takes cues from his later journeys — the scars, the exile, the obsession. The simplified choke points, refined grip sections, and cleaner emitter lines create a more agile, duel-ready silhouette. The weathering adds the story: a weapon dragged through dust, sand, smoke, and fire. A saber that’s seen too many foes and survived them all.

This is that design if it had evolved alongside him — less ornate, more lethal.

Choosing Your Configuration

S-RGB — One high-output LED seated in the hilt, lighting a diffused blade. Bright, brutally durable, and the strongest match for this hilt in particular: a weathered saber is bought to be carried and used, and S-RGB is the setup that takes the most abuse. Smooth swing included.

SNV4 Pixel — An LED strip running the full length of the blade. Ignition and retraction travel up and down the blade, and flash-on-clash fires at the exact point of impact. No setup needed on your part, and this is where most collectors land.

Proffie Pixel — The same pixel blade, driven by a fully programmable board. Custom sound fonts, custom blade styles, gesture ignitions and configuration files you can rewrite yourself. Choose Proffie if you want to tinker. Choose SNV4 if you want it perfect out of the box.

Blade length — 32” is the standard adult dueling length and the safe default. 26” suits shorter wielders, tight choreography and indoor sparring. 36” is reach and display presence. This edition ships with two blades, so your choice applies to a matched pair — and if you intend to run both, 26” is far easier to control through spins and double-handed transitions than 36”.

Two things worth knowing before you order. First, the hilt takes a 1” blade — thicker-walled, brighter, and not interchangeable with 7/8” hilts, so match what you already own. Second, the weathering is a hand-applied finish on real machined aluminum, not a wrap or a print. It wears in further with use rather than rubbing off, and every hilt leaves us looking slightly different from the last.

Common Questions

Is this saber suitable for real dueling?

Yes — it is what the hilt was rebuilt for. Machined aluminum body over a reinforced dueling chassis, and a combat-grade polycarbonate blade rated for full contact. For heavy, frequent use the S-RGB configuration is the most resilient; pixel blades are duel-ready too, but carry more electronics inside the blade.

Will my saber look exactly like the photos?

Close, but not identical. The weathering is applied by hand to each hilt, so the pattern of scoring, darkening and burn marks varies between units. That variation is the entire point of a weathered finish.

Does the weathered finish wear off?

No. It is a finishing process on the aluminum itself rather than a coating or a wrap, so use tends to deepen the character rather than strip it. This hilt is meant to look worse and better at the same time as the years go on.

Why is this version simpler than the original design?

Because the original was built to be looked at. The intricate greeblies and choke points on the source design catch hands and blades in real movement. This edition simplifies them deliberately — you keep the silhouette and lose the snag points, which is what makes the spins and double-handed transitions work.
