Short answer: Cal Kestis carries three different lightsabers across his story, not one. A youngling's saber he loses during Order 66, his dead master's damaged hilt that he scavenges and carries for five years, and finally the split saber he builds on Ilum by combining his master's hilt with Cere Junda's. That third one is the weapon everybody means when they say "the Cal Kestis lightsaber" — and it is the one that comes apart.

The three sabers, in order

The detail people get wrong most often: the split saber is built in Fallen Order, not Survivor. Cal enters the second game already carrying it. What Survivor adds is stances, not a new weapon.
Cere Junda's saber, and why it matters
Cere carried a green-bladed lightsaber during the Republic era and abandoned it in the Empire's early years. She gives it to Cal, and he builds it into his own weapon.
The design detail is the interesting part. Respawn artist Jordan Lamarre-Wan, who designed the hilt, published notes describing a leather-wrapped hilt echoing her belt, emerald stones and a triangular clip echoing her necklace — and, critically, that the hilt was made deliberately shorter than Cal's broken hilt so it could fit as one-third of a full staff when recombined.
So Cere's saber was always designed to become part of Cal's. That is not fan theory; it is the design intent stated by the person who drew it. It is also why "is this Cal's saber or Cere's?" is such a persistent confusion in the replica market — for the third saber, the honest answer is both.
She later fights with a different weapon entirely: her former apprentice Trilla's double-bladed spinning lightsaber, used alongside a blaster pistol at the Fortress Inquisitorius.
The crossguard: what it actually is
This is where we are going to be more careful than most pages you will read on it.
Jedi: Survivor has five combat stances — single-bladed, double-bladed, dual wield, blaster-and-saber, and crossguard. You carry two at a time and swap at meditation points. The crossguard stance unlocks on the Shattered Moon, after Jedha, on the story path.
What is less settled is whether Cal has a crossguard lightsaber as a distinct weapon. Wookieepedia's canon article on crossguard lightsabers lists Darth Atrius, Ezra Bridger and Kylo Ren as users — and does not list Cal. The stance appears to add vent blades to the weapon he already has rather than being a fourth hilt.
We are flagging that as unsettled rather than picking a side. If you want the look, The Shattered Moon is our crossguard build at $525 SNV4 Pixel and $575 Proffie Pixel. It is pixel-only, roughly 13–14 inches, and deliberately heavier and balanced for a two-handed grip — which is the honest consequence of putting a reinforced crossguard chamber on the front of a hilt.

The in-game hilt
- The Jedi's Remnant (JFO) — $339 / $389 / $439. Weathered detailing, roughly 11.5 inches, about 1.1 lb. Takes a 1" or 7/8" blade depending on configuration.
- The Jedi's Remnant (JFO) (Weathered) — $315 / $399 / $449. Hand-aged battle wear, each piece unique. Approximately 12 inches, 1" blade.
- The Clean Survivor — $275 / $349 / $399. Polished silver with black and copper accents, undamaged finish, 1" blade. This is the one to buy if battle wear is not your thing.
- Survivor SE — $189 / $249 / $299. The stripped-back version: bulk and decorative complexity removed, built around handling rather than display.
The split saber
Anchor of Hope — $475 / $549 / $625. This is the one that actually does what the lore describes. Two complete, independent hilts that lock into one: approximately 12 inches combined, roughly 6–7 inches each when separated, with two fully independent removable cores and a kill switch on each hilt. Run it as a staff, as a dual-wield pair, or as one saber on its own.
It is the most expensive hilt in this family and it should be, because you are buying two complete sabers with two sets of electronics. If you have been comparing it to a single-hilt price somewhere else, you are not comparing the same thing.
Cere's own saber
The Cere — $299 / $365 / $409. Aircraft-grade polished aluminium, 7/8" blade, roughly 11–11.5 inches.
The concept art hilt
Boone Kestis — $299 / $375 / $425. This is a design that never appeared in either game, and the naming around it is a genuine mess. We have written the whole thing up in what the Boone Kestis lightsaber actually is.
Where we lose
We do not sell a fully functional double-bladed version of the third saber. Anchor of Hope is our split-saber build and it is genuinely two hilts that couple — but at roughly 12 inches combined it is a short staff, not the long saberstaff the game animates. If a full-length double-bladed Cal build is the specific thing you want, we do not currently have it, and we would rather tell you than sell you something adjacent and let you discover the difference on delivery.
And we take three to four weeks. We build to order, so nothing here is sitting on a shelf. If you need it for a date, buy from someone faster.

How many lightsabers does Cal Kestis have?
Three across both games. His youngling saber, lost during Order 66; Jaro Tapal's damaged hilt, which he carries for five years until the crystal breaks on Dathomir; and the split saber he builds on Ilum from Tapal's hilt combined with Cere Junda's.
When does Cal get the double-bladed lightsaber?
On Ilum, in Fallen Order, roughly mid-game. He already has it when Survivor begins. The kyber crystal splits in two during construction, which is what allows the weapon to run as a single blade, a double blade, or two separate sabers.
Is Cere Junda's lightsaber the same as Cal's?
It starts as a separate weapon and becomes part of Cal's. The designer states the hilt was made shorter on purpose so it would fit as a third of the recombined staff. So they are distinct objects that end up as one.
Does Cal Kestis have a crossguard lightsaber?
He has a crossguard stance in Jedi: Survivor, unlocked on the Shattered Moon. Whether that counts as a separate crossguard lightsaber is not settled — Wookieepedia's crossguard article does not list him among its users. The visual is real; the classification is disputed.
What colour is Cal's lightsaber?

Which Cal Kestis saber should I buy first?
If you want the recognisable in-game hilt at the lowest price, Survivor SE at $189. If you want the full weathered build, The Jedi's Remnant. If the split function is the reason you are here, it has to be Anchor of Hope — nothing else in the range does it.

Returns are free for 30 days. If it is not right, you will not pay to send it back to us. The saber needs to come back unused and undamaged in its original packaging, and you email us first so we can send you a prepaid label and instructions. Every saber carries a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
