Every saber in this collection is offered in the S-RGB baselit configuration — the build we recommend for anyone who intends to actually fight with it.

Baselit means one high-output LED seated in the hilt, lighting a diffused blade. No electronics run inside the blade itself. That is the entire reason it takes punishment better than anything else we sell.

What makes a saber duel-ready?

The phrase gets used loosely, so here is what we mean by it. A duel-ready saber has a full-metal machined hilt, a blade rated for full contact, and internals that are not the first thing to fail when metal meets metal. Every hilt in this collection meets all three in its S-RGB build.

  • Machined aluminium hilts — full metal, not composite.
  • Combat-grade polycarbonate blades rated for full contact.
  • Reinforced internal chassis, removable for maintenance.
  • Smooth swing included — motion-reactive sound on every S-RGB configuration.
  • Kill switch for battery protection between sessions.

Why baselit survives what pixel struggles with

A neopixel blade carries an LED strip along its full length. It looks extraordinary, and it is genuinely duel-rated. But there is more inside it to damage, and the strip and its housing add weight at the far end of the blade, which is where you feel it most.

A baselit blade is a hollow polycarbonate tube with nothing in it. Lighter, faster, and far less to break. It also runs longer on a charge, because you are powering a single LED rather than a strip of them.

This is the honest version of a question this industry generally fudges. Plenty of brands sell pixel sabers as heavy-dueling weapons. We would rather tell you which of ours is actually built for it.

What you give up by choosing baselit

Being straight about the trade runs both ways.

  • The blade lights all at once rather than travelling from the emitter to the tip.
  • Flash-on-clash floods the whole blade instead of firing at the point of impact.
  • No unstable, scorched or colour-shifting blade styles. Those are pixel effects and baselit cannot produce them.
  • Slightly brighter at the base than the tip, which is inherent to lighting a blade from one end.

You still get full colour change, full sound customisation and smooth swing. What you lose is the cinematic blade animation. If that matters more to you than durability, our Neopixel Sabers collection is the same hilts in the pixel build.

Which should you buy first?

If you spar regularly, buy the S-RGB build now and add a pixel saber later for the shelf. That way round works better than the reverse, because a damaged pixel blade is an expensive lesson and a baselit blade is very hard to hurt.

If you duel a few times a year and the saber spends the rest of its life on a stand, buy the pixel version. You will look at it far more often than you will swing it.

What blade length should you order?

32 inch is the standard adult dueling length and the right default.

  • 26 inch — indoor sparring, tight choreography, faster handling, shorter wielders.
  • 32 inch — the standard for most adults and most sparring.
  • 36 inch — maximum reach. Takes more control to swing well and is harder to use indoors.

One honest note

Not every saber we make is built for heavy contact. Our premium collector pieces are specified for display, cosplay and controlled handling, and each of those listings says so on the page. If a hilt appears in this collection, it is offered in the configuration we would put into a sparring session ourselves.

What happens after you order

Every saber is built to order. Orders ship within 14–21 business days, and delivery takes a further 7–10 days after that, in the US and internationally. Shipping within the US is free.

Returns are free for 30 days. If it is not right, you will not pay to send it back to us. Every saber also carries a one-year warranty.
