Short answer: if it needs to be under a tree on 25 December, order it in the first half of November. Every saber we sell is built to order, which means 14 to 21 business days in the workshop before it ships and another 7 to 10 days to reach you. Order on Black Friday itself and the arithmetic does not work — we have done the sums below, and they are the most useful thing on this page.
The Forge Sale runs from 1 November to Cyber Monday, 30 November 2026. Two codes, one per order: BLACKFRIDAY for 20% off the cart, or BOGO50 for 50% off the second saber. Neither works before 1 November, and the discount on 1 November is exactly the same as the discount on Black Friday. That matters more than it sounds.
The dates, before the presents
This is the part most gift guides skip, and it is the part that decides whether you have a present or an apology.
| If you order | It ships | It arrives | Christmas? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 November, when the sale opens | 19 Nov – 2 Dec | 26 Nov – 12 Dec | Comfortably |
| By 11 November | by 13 Dec | by 23 Dec | Yes, even in the worst case |
| 20 November | 10 – 21 Dec | 17 Dec – 31 Dec | Probably, not guaranteed |
| Black Friday, 27 November | 17 – 30 Dec | 24 Dec – 9 Jan | No |
| Cyber Monday, 30 November | 18 – 31 Dec | 25 Dec – 10 Jan | No |
11 November is the date to write down. It is the last day that still works if everything runs slow — the full 21 business day build and the full 10 day delivery. After about 20 November you are gambling, and on Black Friday you are buying a January present at a November price.
There is no trick to this and no expedited option we are hiding. The build time is real because the saber does not exist until you order it. The only lever is when you press the button, and the sale gives you no reason to wait: 1 November and 27 November are the same 20%.
Under $200: a real saber, not a toy
This is the band where most gifts land, and it is better than people expect. Everything here is machined aluminium with a sound board and a polycarbonate blade.
- Survivor SE — $189 baselit. The one we recommend most often as a first saber. Stripped-back hilt, built around handling.
- Unstable Nephew SE — $175 baselit. The crossguard shape, and two side blades are in the box.
- The Katana — $179 baselit. For the person who would rather have a sword than a saber.
- Solitude SE — $175 baselit. Flat-blade katana profile, and the most distinctive silhouette at this price.
- E11-A Black — $115 baselit. The honest budget answer. No character styling, no story, just a working saber.
Our range starts at $100 in the E-series. If you want the full colour wheel rather than a fixed palette, pixel configurations start at $175 — neopixel vs baselit is the honest version of that trade, and for a gift the answer is usually baselit.
$200 to $350: the sweet spot
- Fulcrum SE — $229 baselit. Two complete sabers in one box, a full-size hilt and a shorter shoto, each with its own board and charger. The best-value gift in the range by a distance, and the right answer if two people will be using it.
- Menace SE — $225 baselit. Two blades and a coupler, so it runs as a single 11–12 inch hilt or a 22–24 inch staff.
- The Sage's Echo — $249 baselit, $309 in SNV4 Pixel. A grown-up hilt that photographs beautifully.
- Electrum Wind SE — $229 baselit. Polished and gold-accented, which carries colour better than a black hilt.
- Mandalore SE — $249 in SNV4 Pixel. The black-blade effect, which needs a flat blade and cannot be done as a colour setting.
$350 and up: the one they will not replace
- Electrum Wind — $329 baselit up to $449 Proffie.
- The Chosen One — $365 to $465. The most recognisable hilt we make.
- Heir Of The Empire — $429 to $479, pixel only.
- Fulcrum — $529 to $699. Two polished curved hilts, electronics in both, two blades.
- The Shattered Moon — $525 to $575. The heavy crossguard, with the side-blade emitters included.
The $349 trap worth knowing about
Nineteen of our hilts are sold two ways, and one of them is not a working saber.
On those listings the configuration choice reads "Empty" or "Proffie 3.9". Skyguy is the clearest example: $349 for Empty, $725 installed. The Empty option is the machined shell and its removable core with, in the listing's own words, "no board, no battery, no sound." It exists for collectors and custom builders who want the machining and will fit their own electronics.
As a gift, Empty is almost never what you want. It will not light up on Christmas morning. If you are buying from one of those pages, choose the installed configuration — which is also the one that comes with 15 licensed K-Sith sound fonts loaded free before it ships, so it has a voice out of the box.
We would rather tell you that than take the $349.
Which code, for a gift
You pick one code per order; they do not stack.
| What is in the cart | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One saber, any price | BLACKFRIDAY | 20% off is the only offer that applies to a single item. |
| Two sabers of similar price | BOGO50 | Half off the second is 25% off the pair when both cost the same. |
| Two sabers of very different price | BLACKFRIDAY | BOGO50 discounts the cheaper one, so 20% of the total is often more. |
| A paired set such as Fulcrum SE | BLACKFRIDAY | A paired set is one product, so there is no "second saber" for BOGO50 to halve. |
The rule of thumb: BOGO50 wins once the cheaper saber costs more than about two-thirds of the dearer one. Below that, take the 20%.
Where we lose
We are slow, and a sale does not make us faster. 14 to 21 business days to build, then 7 to 10 days to ship. If you need something next week, buy from someone holding warehouse stock. We would rather lose the order than have you open an empty box on Christmas Eve.
We do not do gift wrapping, gift messages or gift receipts. It arrives in our own box, addressed to whoever you had it sent to. For a surprise, have it sent to yourself.
We do not sell gift cards. If you genuinely do not know which hilt they want, that is the gap, and right now the only workaround is to ask them.
And we do not publish hilt weights consistently. For a gift to a smaller or younger person that is the number you would want, and it is missing on most listings. Email us and we will weigh the specific model.
Common questions
When do I need to order for Christmas delivery?
By 11 November to be certain. That covers the longest build and the slowest delivery. Order after about 20 November and it becomes a gamble; order on Black Friday and it will not arrive in time.
Is it cheaper if I wait for Black Friday?
No. The Forge Sale runs the whole month, and 20% on 1 November is the same 20% as on 27 November. Waiting costs you the delivery window and saves you nothing.
What are the codes and when do they work?
BLACKFRIDAY is 20% off the cart. BOGO50 is 50% off the second saber. Both run 1 November to 30 November 2026, one code per order, and neither works before 1 November.
Is anything excluded from the sale?
No. Every saber on the site is eligible, at every configuration.
What is the best lightsaber gift under $200?
Survivor SE at $189 baselit, for most people. If the budget is firm and the styling does not matter, E11-A Black at $115 is a real saber and the money goes further.
What should I buy for a child?
Baselit, with a 26-inch blade, supervised. These are machined metal hilts rather than certified toys, and we go through that properly in the guide for buying one for a child.
Can I return it if they do not like it?
Yes. Returns are free for 30 days, unused and in the original packaging, with a prepaid label from us. Email us first.
Does the cheapest option on a $349 listing actually work?
Not on the nineteen hilts that offer "Empty" — that is the bare machined shell with no board, battery or sound. Choose the installed configuration for a gift.
Where to start
If you do not know the hobby, what is a neopixel saber takes two minutes and neopixel vs baselit covers the one decision that actually changes the price. For a first saber specifically, the beginner's guide is the shortlist, and 26, 32 or 36 inch settles blade length — order 26 inches for anyone who will swing it indoors.
Everything duel-ready sits on Duel-Ready Sabers, and everything with a full colour wheel is on Neopixel Sabers.
What happens after you order with us
Orders ship within 14–21 business days. Once shipped, delivery takes a further 7–10 days, in the US and internationally. Shipping within the US is free; international is a flat $50.
Returns are free for 30 days. If it is not right, you will not pay to send it back to us. The saber needs to come back unused and undamaged in its original packaging, and you email us first so we can send you a prepaid label and instructions. Every saber carries a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Sale terms are StarForged Saber Works' own, published for The Forge Sale: 1–30 November 2026, codes BLACKFRIDAY and BOGO50, one per order, no exclusions. Delivery dates are calculated from our own published build and shipping windows and allow for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays; they are estimates, not guarantees. Prices and configurations are our own live prices as of 7 October 2026 and may change.
